Grade of Reinforcement Bar

Grade of reinforcement Bar

In construction firms steel plays a very important role as Rebar (Reinforcement bar) in R.C.C. Well known fact that is concrete strong in compressive and weak in tensile to counter the tensile force reinforcement is applied in concrete, that reinforced material is steel. For a normal Residential building(750 sq.ft) itself a minimum 8-10  tons Rebar steel are required.

First steel grade is Fe250 mild steel, this type of steels are used in the starting stage of Reinforced cement concrete. After that Fe 415 TMT  Bars came to the usage. At present construction of heavy structures there is a need for high grade bars.

Grade of Steel (presently available in indian market)

  1. Fe 500

  2. Fe 550

  3. Fe 600

  4. Fe 500D

  5. Fe 550D

  6. Fe 500 HCR

  7. Fe 550 HCR

  8. Fe 600 HCR

  9. Fe 415S HCR

  10. Fe 415S HCR

  11. Fe 500S EQR

  12. Fe 550S HCR EQR

D = Ductility

Fe 500D or Fe 550D this type of bar mostly used in R.C.C structure in Building.

HCR = High Corrosion Resistance

Fe 500 HCR, Fe 550 HCR and Fe 600 HCR this type of bar mostly used in marine and coastal, to avoid corrosion.

EQR = Earthquake Resistance

Fe500 EQR is a current trend bar in SAIL, this type of bar used in earthquake Zone.

Currently most of the government project Fe 500 D steels are recommended, but if you order in SAIL for Fe 500D, they will supply Fe 500 EQR most of the engineers are confused on that time whether some mistake happened in order placing. But there is no issue on that, Fe 500 EQR is  good in ductility and additionally it will withstand earthquakes also.

Why Cranks Provided in Slab Reinforcement Bars?

  Why Cranks Provided in Slab Reinforcement Bars?     In Construction field most of the rising question is why cranks are provided in slab rebar?Lets go to the Strength of Material subject, we have studied about the Types of supported Cantilever support, Simply support, Continuous support, fixed support , Propped cantilever support and overhanging support.  While design time engineers will be considered beam and slab are fixed support . In fixed support two types of bending moments will be occurred Positive bending moment and negative bending moment. Positive bending moment will occur at center and negative bending moment will occur at supports, to counter the Negative bending moment cranks are provided in slab rebar at supports, based upon negative bending moment occurring distance the cranks provided. Short notes:-To counter the negative bending moment in the R.C.C Slab Cranks are provided.   Article By Pandi Rajendran B.E

BRICKWORK CALCULATION

  BRICKWORK CALCULATION   Let calculate the brickwork for image 2 Image 2 Step 1:- Calculate for the wall of size Length, Breadth and Depth                       V=LxBxD                 =3x0.19x3                            =1.71 cu.m Step 2:- Calculate the volume of one brick                  Note:- add 10mm(0.01m)  for each side of brick for cement mortar thickness (eg:- Modular brick size is 190mmx90mmx90mm while finding brickwork volume should to be taken as 200mmx100mmx100mm ).                            ...
